Hong Kong – TVB Jade won the ABU/CASBAA/UNICEF Child Rights Award 2007 for its documentary Children Left Behind. The 30-minute doc chronicles the lives of 22 million ‘home-alone’ children in Chinese rural villages in Hunan, Szechuan and Chongqing provinces as parents migrate to urban centres for work. More than 60 entries were received from Australia, Bhutan, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Iran, Japan, Laos, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore and Sri Lanka.
