Parthenon Entertainment, producer and distributor of factual and children’s programming, is co-producing a new HD animal series titled Baby Planet (working title) with Animal Planet US, Animal Planet International and French broadcaster France 5. The 5 x 60’ series will feature news stories from global wildlife conservation and breeding initiatives including the birth and growth of pandas, the wattled crane, Barbary lions and white rhinos. It’s the first project from Parthenon Entertainment’s wildlife production office in Bristol. The show is executive produced by Parthenon’s creative director Natalie Humphreys and Andrew Buchanan. The co-production deal extends from Animal Planet International’s recent acquisition of Parthenon’s new series Planet Wild (13×30’), as well as its two co-productions with Animal Planet US, Bandits of Selous (1×50’ HD) and Hippo Hell (1×60’ HD). Animal Planet US also acquired Parthenon’s Cheetah Blood Brothers (1×50’ HD).
