Tokyo – Shigeo Fukuchi, NHK’s newly appointed President has named former staff Yoshinori Imai as Executive Vice President. Imai returns to the pubcaster from retirement to replace Taeko Nagai who resigned after serving her three-year term. Imai was NHK’s Chief Commentator since 2003 and retired last December. Having joined the pubcaster since 1968, Imai has held various positions including Bureau Chief at NHK’s General Bureau for Europe (London) and Director-General of the International Planning & Broadcasting Department.
