Australia Network will re-launch its flagship news program Newshour with Jim Middleton to be broadcast over 44 countries in Asia Pacific. The re-launch event will take place on February 20, 2008 at Parliament House in Canberra, while the show has debuted on February 18. Hosted by veteran Australian journalist Jim Middleton, the show focuses on events of the day, panel discussions with commentators and experts on issues and perspectives of Australia and Asia Pacific. Bruce Dover, chief executive, Australia Network, said, “This is the perfect opportunity for all those interested in regional news and current affairs to gain new insight and perspective on the issues and events that impact the Asia Pacific region. We are giving audiences informative, entertaining and stimulating content and our news and current affairs program will provide more than the headlines for our viewers.”
