Taipei – Streaming21, provider of broadcast-quality streaming solutions, Sampo, manufacturer of consumer electronics, and Microsoft Taiwan have formed the Digital Home Alliance. The partners aim to drive the digital home market worldwide by providing wired and wireless interoperable personal computers, consumer electronics and mobile devices in the home to share new digital media and content services. Applications developed by Streaming21 based on the recently released Microsoft Home Server are integrated with Sampo consumer electronics. Appliances already developed by the partners include an IP-refrigerator, IP-STB, and a 42″ LCD HDTV (1080p with HDMI) which features an embedded STB and supports DLNA and UPnP standards via wired or wireless networks.
