Children’s wildlife series, Bindi: The Jungle Girl will premiere in Scandinavia, Eastern Europe and the Middle East, following sales closed by ABC Commercial. The deals have come within four months of the series’ international launch at MIP Junior in October 2007. In the natural history program which focuses on conservation, Bindi travels across the world to feature local wildlife and highlight how animals should be treated. Bindi: The Jungle Girl premiered on ABC TV in July 2007 and drew an averaged free-to-air audience share of 70% among kids 0-12, according to audience measurement company OzTAM. The series finished its first run in January 2008, and begins a second run in March. The series also aired on Discovery Kids Channel US in June 2007. Also, the DVD of the series was released in Australia last October and was among the top children’s titles for Christmas 2007. Negotiations for Bindi: The Jungle Girl are currently ongoing in several other key markets, including in the UK. ABC Commercial is representing the series’ exclusive worldwide standard television rights, excluding USA, China and Taiwan.
