GlobeCast has teamed with Beijing International Media Services (BMC), a joint-venture between Seven Network and Beijing Television (BTV), to establish Beijing Broadcast Base 2008. The setup offers production equipment and transmission facilities to non-rightsholders and rightsholders, along with broadcasting and logistic capabilities including live site stand up and studio broadcast positions for Olympic coverage. Broadcast Base 2008 is located at Pangu Plaza just off the Olympic Green, within 500m of the International Broadcasting Centre and the Main Press Centre, and is accessible by road from all directions. It is also offering studio and live positions at Pangu Plaza and Dragon Market Place. The broadcast centre features workspaces, fully equipped studio and camera positions, all-digital MCR, playout services, fibre connectivity and satellite uplink. Broadcast quality equipment is offered in multiple formats on site, as well as video and audio post production facilities and logistic support. Services provided include global transmission services with dedicated fibre paths and uplinks; studio and mobile production units; digital master control facilities; ENG package and portable control room rental; live positions and playout units; linear and non-linear editing and post-production; customizable office space and control room builds; equipment storage and warehousing; as well as DSNG trucks and fly-aways.
