Nonthaburi, Thailand – Shin Satellite Public Company Limited 2007 Financial Results showed total revenues of Baht 12,799million (US$410million) up 43% on 2006 due mainly to the sales of 49% shares in Shenington Investments Pte. Revenue from IPSTAR increased from 2006 with the total sales of 38,011 IPSTAR User Terminals. Currently, the Company has delivered 104,067 IPSTAR User Terminals across the Asia-Pacific region. The increase in the revenue of IPSTAR in 2007 mainly resulted from the continued successful deployment of IPSTAR services in Australia serving the rural market. While in Thailand, TOT Plc has continued to deploy IPSTAR User Terminals to supplement it existing telephone line network and internet broadband services nationwide. The Company has completed the installation of 10 IPSTAR Gateways in 7 countries including Thailand, Vietnam, Australia (2 gateways), New Zealand, Myanmar, China (3 gateways) and Cambodia. Within the first half of 2008, the Company plans to complete the construction of four gateways and provide full commercial services in Malaysia, the Philippines, Korea and Indonesia. Revenues from telephone business services in Cambodia (Cambodia Shinawatra Co., Ltd.) and Laos (Lao Telecommunications Co., Ltd.) increased by the continued growth of mobile subscribers. The combined number of mobile subscribers increased 39% on the previous year, totalling 1,261,510 mobile subscribers at end 2007. Revenue for Internet access and media businesses was Baht 243million (US$7.8million), an increase of 203.8% on 2006. This was due to an increase in revenue from sales of the DTV product, a low cost Ku-band satellite dish and set top box. As of 2007, total sales of DTV were 101,167 units. In 2007, the Company also launched two new products, HD Cinema, the HDTV push video-on-demand service via the THAICOM-4 (IPSTAR) and Wiworld, an automatic tracking – mobile TV satellite dish for vehicle via THAICOM-5.
