Maurice van Sabben has will join National Geographic Television International (NGTI) as president at its London office on April 1, 2008. He reports to Edward (Ted) Prince, chief operating officer of National Geographic Ventures (NGV), based at the company’s headquarters in Washington DC. van Sabben will oversee NGTI’s existing factual and kids’ programme sales business, and will work with National Geographic Television to provide documentary programming internationally, source new financing opportunities for production and establish production partnerships. He will also support the development of selected National Geographic activities internationally, including working with NGV and National Geographic Digital Media to drive National Geographic’s digital business outside of the US. van Sabben was formerly commercial director at SNTV (Sports News Television), part of IMG Media, responsible for worldwide sales and business development.
