Tokyo – The New Media Group, KK (TNMG), owner of the World On-Demand IPTV platform, and Info-fresh, Inc., operator of www.info-fresh.com a community and information website for overseas Japanese, have partnered to develop and market bundled IPTV content offerings for Japanese in the US market. Scheduled for launch in July 2008, the service initially targets Info-fresh’s 50,000 members at www.info-fresh.com, with Japanese content to be co-developed by the partners, and delivered via broadband CDN to set-top boxes and PCs to the US-based Japanese community. The Info-fresh website has been offering content, information and social networking features to users for the last three years. Satoru Kurumisawa, senior advisor to the TNMG project said, “The mission of the World On-Demand (service) is to bridge communities and become a new community-oriented media platform. Working with Info-fresh to build this offering is a natural fit for the content aggregation, distribution, low-cost bandwidth and other assets that World On-Demand has, along with its mission to serve underserved communities.”
