Tokyo – Toei Animation Co. Ltd. has appointed Spanish licensing company Biplano as merchandising broker for properties Saint Seiya and Dragon Ball for Spain and Portugal, encompassing all merchandising rights with the exception of toys, video games and publishing. Saint Seiya is an anime series following five mystical warriors who have adopted various constellations as their guardian symbols, offering a serious treatment of classic mythological stories and themes. Extending to 508 episodes, the Dragon Ball franchise follows protagonist Son Goku’s quest for seven magical Dragon Balls in a saga that stretches through three series including Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball GT. In Spain, Dragon Ball is currently aired on Cuatro.
