Singapore – National Geographic Channels International (NGCI) has commissioned three China-focused Megastructures (3×60′) programmes from New Zealand production house NHNZ as part of its May China Special. The three Megastructures shows Shanghai Super Tower, China’s Ultimate Port, and Beijing Water Cube, will showcase modern Chinese architectural achievements including the Shanghai World Financial Centre, Yangshan Port and the Beijing Water Cube aquatic centre with exclusive access to each building. In Shanghai Super Tower, viewers witness the building of the Shanghai World Financial Centre, the tallest building in mainland China which stretches some 500metres skywards. China’s Ultimate Port takes viewers 30kilometres off the coast of Shanghai to the construction site of Yangshan Port. Beijing Water Cube documents the construction of the official Olympic aquatic centre for the Beijing 2008 Olympics.
