New York – Nelvana Enterprises has unveiled a slate of new international licensees for its teen and tween animated property Ruby Gloom developed by Nelvana Studios, Radar Cartoons and Mighty Fine. Ruby Gloom was spun-off from a T-shirt design from Mighty Fine in 2002 and it follows the adventures of Ruby and friends in Gloomsville, including Doom Kitty and Skull Boy, and explores friendship, acceptance, adventure and creativity. The TV series was sold to Australia’s ABC, Cartoon Network in Japan and Latin America, France 3, Germany’s Super RTL, as well as Canada’s YTV and SRC. In Asia, Sony Music Entertainment in Japan released March 2008 a CD single featuring J-pop star Nana Kitade as Ruby Gloom with two songs and a DVD featuring an animated music video and behind-the-scenes footage; and in Australia, an exclusive line of T-shirts were launched in 240 Jay Jays youth apparel stores in July 2008 developed by Designworks, and bedding will be exclusively available through Spotlight Stores in September 2008. Additional licensees include Impact Rock for posters. These add to licensees already in the Middle East, Japan, US, Canada, France, Latin America. Available categories for licensees include interactive and mobile content, home video, publishing, apparel, accessories, bags, stationery, décor and furnishing.
