Australian multicultural and multilingual pubcaster Special Broadcasting Service has unveiled its presenters for Top Gear Australia, localized version of BBC’s motoring entertainment show. Top Gear Australia is the first of a global roll out of the BBC Worldwide franchise. Charlie Cox, Warren Brown, Steve Pizzati were selected out of 4,000 auditions to host Top Gear Australia, to be produced by BBC Worldwide’s JV partner Freehand productions to premier in 2008. Cox is a presenter and commentator for motorsport with BBC following a car-racing stint and a career as a radio broadcast journalist in Australia and England. He is also director of six media companies in both countries. Brown is a cartoonist and motoring columnist with Australia’s Daily Telegraph. Pizzati is a driving instructor and race driver for Porsche Australia, and is part of the International Audi driver training team in Melbourne. He also freelances as a motoring journalist and photography stunt driver.
