Banff, Canada – BBC Worldwide and Toronto-based Temple Street Productions have reached an agreement for BBC Worldwide to acquire a minority stake in Temple Street and for the two companies to enter into an overall partnership on development, production and distribution. The new relationship provides BBC Worldwide with a Canadian production partner for its world-renowned formats while giving it access to Temple Street’s scripted and unscripted programming and formats. The deal boost Temple Street’s presence both in Canada and internationally as a creator and producer of top notch content and increases the company’s development and production funding capabilities. Hilary Read, BBC Worldwide Canada’s COO, and the person who brought the two businesses together said, “We’re delighted to be able to make this happen and combine the strength of Temple Street with the power of the BBC brand in Canada.”
