Shanghai – My Boy Jack starring Daniel Radcliffe and Kim Cattrall has won the Silver Award for Best TV Film at the Magnolia Awards, part of the 14th Annual Shanghai Television Festival. My Boy Jack, an Ecosse/WGBH/Ingenious Broadcasting co-production for ITV in association with Granada International, has been sold to more than 40 territories. James Ross, regional director at Granada International commented, “This win underscores the significant impact of our content in China and Asia. We are delighted that the Magnolia Awards have acknowledged this UK drama and hope that more people in the region will now have the opportunity to see the show.” Brian Kirk of Ecosse Films who produced the emotional World War I drama collected the award in Shanghai on behalf of the production. He commented, “It’s a tribute to the strength of the writing, great performances and the quality of the production that this story transcends national boundaries, and strikes a universal accord.” The 14th Shanghai TV Festival took place June 9th-13th, 2008, culminating in the prestigious Magnolia Awards.
