Singapore – From September 1 2008, all StarHub Digital Cable customers using digital set-top box, high definition (HD) set-top box or HubStation will receive an additional Korean channel – Arirang TV (Channel 172) at no additional cost. Arirang TV was first launched on StarHub Digital Cable in May 2004 and is being offered as a Specialty channel, at a monthly subscription of S$8.56 (US$6.20). Following its migration to StarHub’s Complimentary Tier, Arirang TV subscribers can save US$75 a year. Patrick Lim, StarHub’s head of cable TV Services said, “We are always looking for ways to reward our digital customers and this time round, we decided to offer Arirang TV to them free-of-charge. The addition of Arirang TV to the Complimentary Tier will offer a wider selection of programmes for viewers who are interested in Korean TV and culture.” Other channels presently offered in the Complimentary Tier include Deutsche Welle (Channel 45), TVRI (Channel 160), Australia Network (Channel 170), KBS World (Channel 173) and HD5 (Channel 300).
