Singapore – Come September 24, StarHub will add a new channel, Vannathirai (VTV) to its pay-TV line up. StarHub TV customers using the HubStation, digital or high definition set-top box can watch the latest blockbuster hits on VTV via StarHub TV Channel 30. This comes as October 18 sees terrestrial MediaCorp TV devote an entire channel to Tamil-language Vasantham, which previously shared the Central channel with Kids and Arts. VTV is a 24-hour Tamil movie channel that offers classic movies and latest blockbusters as recent as those released in the cinemas one to three months ago. VTV plans to go ‘live’ seven days a week. At primetime everyday, viewers can tune into the ‘live’ show Hello ‘V’, call in to dedicate songs to their friends and loved ones, and have their messages aired to VTV audiences across the whole of Singapore. Viewers can also look forward to local programmes produced specially for the Singapore market. Examples include Nayyandi Club, a comedy-based skit featuring local artistes and Start Camera Action, a reality based programme whereby a local host goes around the Singapore streets in search of people with special talents. VTV screens seven movies daily from five main categories namely ‘Morning Classic’, ‘Mega Matinee’, ‘Evening Hits’, ‘Blockbuster Reels’ and ‘Hit Night’.
