MIPCOM Cannes – Discovery Communications announced that it will offer a robust slate of programming from Planet Green, the first 24-hour network dedicated to eco-friendly living, for the first time at MIPCOM. Launched in June 2008 with more than 250 hours of original programming, Planet Green reaches more than 50 million homes in the US and is also available as a programming block in Asia, Latin America and the UK. Planet Green’s programming covers a wide range of topics and genres that inform and entertain viewers while promoting a green lifestyle. “We will partner with third-party broadcasters to share this innovative programming with audiences around the world who are hungry to better understand green living,” said Caleb Weinstein, senior vice president, Discovery Enterprises International. Discovery Communications’ president and CEO, David Zaslav was at MIPCOM to discuss Planet Green at the Green TV keynote.
