Paris/New-York – Reed MIDEM and the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (IATAS) announced the launch of the fourth International Digital Emmy Awards (IDEA), to take place at MIPTV (30 March – 3 April, 2009 Cannes). The call for entries runs until 12 January 2009. The International Digital Emmy Awards are recognizing excellence in content created and designed for viewer interaction and/or delivery on a digital platform (interactive TV, mobile, internet, etc.) originating outside of the US. The International Digital Emmy Awards 2009 will include three award categories: Digital Program – Fiction; Digital Program – Non-Fiction; and Digital Program – Children & Young People. Eligible submissions must have been created and initially distributed outside of the US. The deadline for entries is 12 January, 2009. Winners will be announced at a ceremony during MIPTV 2009 in Cannes. The entry forms for the 2009 International Digital Emmy Awards are now online.
