Siem Reap, Cambodia – On 7 December 2008, at the magnificent Angkor Wat temple, Placebo played an electrifying set that included specially rehearsed unique orchestrations of their songs. The show was the band’s only performance in 2008. Placebo was joined by seven international and Cambodian artists at the concert, produced by MTV EXIT to raise awareness and increase prevention of human trafficking, a crime impacting millions of people worldwide. A capacity crowd of over 1,000 fans from Cambodia and around the world attended the concert featuring US rock band The Click Five, Grammy-award-winner Duncan Sheik, Australian pop starlet Kate Miller-Heidke, Cambodian hip hop legend Pou Khlaing, and Cambodian pop stars Sokun Nisa, Meas Soksohpiam and Chorn Sovanrech. MTV EXIT (End Exploitation and Trafficking) is a project of the MTV Europe Foundation – a London-based registered charity – to raise awareness and increase prevention of human trafficking and exploitation. MTV EXIT in Asia is produced in partnership with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
