Singapore – HBO Asia garnered the highest viewership in recent years for English cable movie channels in Taiwan with the premiere of the box office blockbuster, Transformers on 21 December 2008 at 9pm on HBO. According to research done by AGB Nielsen Media Research Taiwan, the primetime telecast of Transformers chalked up a TVR rating of 4.75 at its peak, eclipsing the record set earlier this year by Spider-Man 3, another HBO title. This makes Transformers not just the number one most-watched program on an English cable movie channel, but across all Taiwan movie channels to date in 2008.
