TV5MONDE has launched a revised programme grid for Asia to better cater to media consumption habits of its local viewers and prepare the arrival of a new channel for East Asia later on this year. Major changes include: the reinforcement of news offering in the morning to better suit audiences of business travellers and local C-Levels from New Delhi to Wellington; the increased accessibility of the offering on access prime-time, with English-subtitled news magazines leading up to the 8:30pm news bulletin. This aims to regroup Eng-sub programmes and form a consistent pack of access prime-time news and prime-time cinema easily identifiable and more attractive to our local viewers; evenings will see increased exposure of successful discovery magazine shows. One of these new discovery slots will host new monthly “green” magazine, ECRAN VERT (“green screen”). And a slot has been created to re-run weekly French “Ligue 1” football games on Sunday morning at 11:30am (first run is live early Sunday) to increase viewership among younger football fans.
