Sydney – Australian ISP myKP plans to start trialling IPTV services, according to reports in local news portal IT News, quoting company director George Kaloudis. Although no planned start date was given for the trials, Kaloudis added that the ISP is “in discussions with several international content suppliers working through licensing agreements.” Based in Sydney, the company is expected to focus mostly on rural areas which lack a variety of media outlets. Recent reports in another Australian news port, CommsDay, indicated that myKP plans to start leveraging its existing partnerships with local councils to use their infrastructure for the delivery of broadband services via a number of methods, including ADSL, ADSL2+ and fixed-wireless access via a rooftop aerial. Its new so-called ?Hero? platform will start offering a single unlimited data plan for AU$ 79.95 (US$ 52.93) a month, with telephony services likely become available at a later point, along with video and audio content services.
