Manila – Discovery Networks Asia-Pacific and SKYCABLE announced the launch of Discovery HD, the company’s international high definition network, in the Philippines. Discovery HD is available on channel 164 and will launch as part of SKYCABLE’s high definition TV (HDtv) offering. The SKYCABLE HD service is initially available in Metro Manila only. Discovery HD in the Philippines will feature new content that include Behind The Camera, a five-part series that follows three different photographers in each episode; The Drifters which explores the cutting-edge sport of drifting; and Cruising Antarctica, which goes on board a luxury icebreaker. Discovery now operates HD services in six markets in the region including Australia, Hong Kong, Japan, the Philippines, Singapore and South Korea.
