London – KidsCo, the international children’s channel owned by NBC Universal, Cookie Jar Group and Corus Entertainment Inc. has announced that it is to launch into Taiwan and Vietnam after striking deals with leading distributors in the territories. KidsCo has secured agreements with Portico Media to act as its distributor in the Taiwanese market and Q.net, who will act as KidsCo’s representative in Vietnam. Portico and Q.net will represent KidsCo for video-on-demand (VOD) and linear channels on cable and IPTV with Q.net also acting for direct-to-home (DTH) satellite. Today’s agreements will see leading KidsCo programming including The Wiggles, New Adventures of Madeline, Franklin, Rolie Polie Olie, Tracy Beaker, Mary-Kate and Ashley and original KidsCo programming including arts show, Jass Time!, available on demand in the territories. KidsCo’s presence in Taiwan and Vietnam follows its strategic expansion into Asia. KidsCo now airs in Asian territories including Singapore, Korea, Hong Kong, Palau, the Philippines, Cambodia, Thailand and Papua New Guinea. KidsCo offers three programming zones of preschool, kids 6-10 and family, which have been designed to fit audience availability and lifestyle, and feature great animated and live action content plus movies which can be enjoyed by the whole family.
