Mumbai – NDS, the leading provider of technology solutions for digital pay-TV announced that DEN, a leading Indian digital cable TV operator, has launched an advanced customised NDS electronic programme guide (EPG) based on NDS MediaHighway middleware, to bring an enhanced user experience to subscribers to its Digitelly platform. The new user interface enables subscribers to easily navigate and access DEN’s digital pay-TV services. The new EPG on Digitelly includes sophisticated navigation tools and frequent data changes which supports the promotion of new services. Content options can be shown on a preview screen which enables the viewer to scroll through all channels before making a selection. Subscribers also have the added advantage of choosing to display the programme schedule by time of day or by date. When using the DEN EPG, viewers can truly interact with their pay-TV service, and in the future will have the option to include advanced features like video on-demand entertainment. In March 2008, it was announced that DEN had selected a suite of NDS technologies to protect and power its digital cable platform, which included NDS’ VideoGuard conditional access as well as MediaHighway and the NDS EPG.
