Sri Lanka – The government says it is drawing up legislation to introduce a code of conduct for television advertisements, reports the Daily News. According to the Cultural Affairs Minister Piyasiri Wijenayake, his ministry was framing the legislation on the initiative of President Mahinda Rajapaksa. He said certain TV ads were corrupting young minds. Wijenayake was speaking in the central city of Kandy after opening an office of the National Freedom Front, a party in the ruling coalition.
