Los Angeles – Hollywood television executive Barbara Wellner has been appointed vice president of programming, Metan Development Group (Metan). Based at Metan’s Los Angeles headquarters, Wellner will oversee Metan’s weekly international entertainment news series THRtv, including Hello Hollywood, the recently launched version for the Chinese market. In addition to being responsible for all current programming, she is charged with supervision of all content for Metan, including television, web and mobile and acquired programming, development and implementation of programming strategies for worldwide distribution, as well as new series and pilot development. Her responsibilities also include cultivating new show talent, customizing format acquisitions and supervising Metan’s programming team. Wellner has had an extensive career in creating, developing and producing a wide variety of television programming and live events. Integral to the launch of F/X, she has worked with many of the cable and broadcast networks producing literally hundreds of hours of original programming.
