Endemol is launching a social gaming version of its international game show hit Deal or No Deal. Deal or No Deal Live! will be a free to play game funded by advertising and sponsorship and will initially launch on Facebook in the UK at the end of November. This will be followed by further launches in other territories and on other major social networks in 2010. The move represents the first time Endemol has entered the social gaming market and is expected to be followed by similar projects involving more of the group’s global formats. Deal or No Deal Live! will allow multiple players to play against each other at the same time with the same boxes. Whereas the TV show has one game with one set of boxes, a match in Deal or No Deal Live! is played over four games with different boxes in each. Players must try to make the best deal possible in each game and the winner is the player with the most money at the end of the four games. Endemol is behind a growing line up of content for social networking sites. This includes Get Married on Myspace and online reality series The Gap Year, which this week re-launched simultaneously on Bebo, Facebook, MySpace, Twitter and YouTube following the success of series one on Bebo. A second run of 1 vs. 100 on Xbox Live is also due to launch on 20 November after the first run generated close to 3 million downloads with up to 200,000 people tuning in to play each day. The game allows Xbox players in key territories around the world to simultaneously play a live version of Endemol ‘s game show hit 1 vs. 100.
