London – KidsCo, the international children’s channel has announced a new, original, production, focusing on the work of Malaysia’s Sepilok orang-utan sanctuary. The twelve, one-minute long features show baby orang-utans being bathed, fed and exercised. The series, Boo’s Sanctuary, which will be exclusively broadcast on KidsCo, features the real life inspiration behind KidsCo’s original animated production Boo and Me. The series is part of KidsCo’s ongoing commitment to raise awareness of environmental issues to children. Filmed in the Borneo rainforest in Sabah, East Malaysia in October 2009 in association with Inspidea of Petaling Jaya, and Astro Productions, Kuala Lumpur, the production was executively produced by KidsCo. KidsCo will be showing the features eight times per day over the course of twelve weeks in 65 countries across Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe and the Middle East. Aired from 1 February to 19 April, each episode deals with a different topic that teaches kids about orang-utans and their life at Sepilok. Children will learn about how orang-utans play, climb, make nests in trees and build relationships with rangers.
