Seoul – TV5MONDE has launched on QOOK TV throughout the territory. Korea Telecom’s QOOK TV is South Korea’s largest IPTV operator with 1.2 million subscribers, including about 900,000 subscribers to linear channels, according to the latest figures from the operator. TV5MONDE had been available on cable to 150,000 homes before the QOOK deal was announced, and launched on P2P live streaming from the channel’s website tv5monde.com/pacific three months ago. It is the most significant carriage deal to date for newly-created TV5MONDE Pacifique, the ninth regional channel from the network which launched in September 2009 to target Japan, Korea and Australasia. TV5MONDE Pacifique will be offered in QOOK TV’s basic package on channel 350.
