Taiwan Television has expanded its HD content ingest workflow capabilities by investing in the PlayBox Neo Suite – a leading multi-channel multi-server UHD/HD/SD platform designed to integrate into the production workflow of any television network, post-production facility or playout centre. PlayBox Neo Ingest gives ingest operators the resources they need to handle multiple incoming content feeds. This significant upgrade will enhance Taiwan Television’s operational efficiency in handling large volumes of HD content and provide a reliable and scalable platform for future media workflows.
Established since 1962, Taiwan Television (TTV) is the island’s inaugural commercial free-to-air television network and has pioneered major programming formats that have significantly influenced Taiwan’s broadcast media landscape. Taiwan Television was looking for a stable, high-performance, and highly scalable multi-channel ingest system. After careful evaluation, TTV selected PlayBox Neo’s solution to replace legacy equipment in order to set the standard and keep pace with mounting broadcast content demand.
With the assistance of PlayBox Neo’s Taiwanese partner, Golden Best Media Technology (GBM), the successful implementation of the deployment included end-to-end broadcast media infrastructure integration with 24 PlayBox Neo’s Ingest Suite HD channel systems, installed across three high-performance HD servers, including storage, fibre network environment, and customised application development. The system adopts a 1:1 redundancy architecture that safeguards a stable and uninterrupted round-the-clock operation, laying a solid foundation for TTV’s content asset management. In addition, GBM provided comprehensive on-the-job training that covered daily operations, engineering and technical maintenance required in order for the TTV team to seamlessly transition and fully utilise the new system and hit the ground running.
Used by television networks, post-production facilities and playout centres, PlayBox Neo’s Ingest solution offers broadcasters ultra-high-efficiency ingest across a wide range of file formats, codecs and containers. Ingest is easy to integrate into any broadcast media environment, using client-server architecture which can be scaled to accommodate unlimited numbers of channels. High productivity results are ensured owing to the ingest operator controlling all available ingest servers from a single user interface.
