ABS-CBN, the Philippines’ leading media and entertainment company, advances its international distribution as its primetime drama “2 Good 2 Be True” becomes the first Philippine drama series to air on free TV in the Middle East, airing weeknights on Dubai One since February 16.
The launch was strategically timed during the Ramadan season, one of the highest television consumption periods in the region, maximizing visibility and audience reach across Middle Eastern markets.
Dubai One, owned by Dubai Media Incorporated, is a widely distributed English-language free-to-air channel reaching millions of households across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). The channel primarily features western content, besides telenovelas, with Arabic subtitles, positioning ABS-CBN’s Filipino drama among leading international series.
The series airs in English-dubbed version with Arabic subtitles, enabling it to reach both Arabic and English speaking audiences in the region.
This latest milestone reinforces ABS-CBN’s continued international expansion as it transitions into a global storytelling company, bringing heartfelt Philippine stories to international audiences across broadcast, streaming, and digital platforms.
It also builds ABS-CBN’s growing presence in the Middle East. In 2024, “A Soldier’s Heart” became the first Filipino series to debut in Arabic-dubbed version on major video-on-demand platforms in the region. Both “2 Good 2 Be True” and “A Soldier’s Heart” are distributed by the company’s local partner, Rabee Alhajabed Art Prod’n. & Dist’n.
“2 Good 2 Be True,” which stars Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla, previously demonstrated strong performance in the Philippine market, remaining in the Netflix Philippines Top 10 for 32 consecutive weeks.
“2 Good 2 Be True” follows Eloy, a mechanic and law student determined to clear his father’s name, and Ali, a compassionate nurse aspiring to become a doctor. Their journey of love, redemption, and second chances resonated strongly with the global audiences.
With over 50,000 hours of content sold to more than 50 countries worldwide, ABS-CBN continues to expand the global reach of Filipino storytelling across broadcast, streaming, and digital platforms.
