Quintus Channel Network Partners With VICE TV on High-Risk Unscripted Series Danger Play

February 3, 2026 by TVA Editor

QUINTUS CHANNEL NETWORK, Quintus Studios’ AVOD channel network, has partnered with VICE TV on Danger Play, a 6×45’ unscripted series. Produced by Adventure Alliance Films in partnership with Quintus Studios, the series was commissioned for the Quintus Channel Network and pre-sold to VICE TV for the U.S., Caribbean (English-language only), Australia and New Zealand. Quintus Studios retains IP ownership and will distribute the series.

The series places audiences shoulder-to-shoulder with individuals who confront serious injury and death as part of their everyday lives, revealing not just the danger, but the motivation, identity and personal cost behind choosing to live on the edge. Each episode focuses on a different high-risk world, including professional bull riding, bare-knuckle fighting, big-mountain skiing, downhill mountain biking, big-wave surfing and sumo wrestling.

Filmed across the United States and Japan, Danger Play adopts a raw, verité style that forgoes traditional sit-down interviews in favour of immersive access, real-time moments and observational storytelling. The series forms part of Quintus Studios’ ongoing strategy to deliver and distribute premium, high-impact factual programming for both digital and linear partners, working with bold brands and platforms that prioritise access-driven, authentic storytelling.

Anouk van Dijk, Head of Co-productions & Sales, Quintus Studios said, “This collaboration with Vice TV strengthens our position as a leading co-producer working across both linear television and YouTube. We’re able to deliver premium, access-driven storytelling that performs in algorithm-led environments while also meeting the editorial and technical requirements of broadcasters — all within tightly controlled budgets. As traditional partners look to extend reach without increasing risk, this hybrid model is becoming increasingly attractive.”

Adam Jacobs, Creative Director at Quintus Studios and Executive Producer on Danger Play, added, “Danger Play is about far more than adrenaline. We wanted to get under the skin of what drives people to continually put themselves in harm’s way, and what happens when risk becomes inseparable from identity. By embedding deeply with contributors and removing the filter of traditional interviews, the series captures an honesty and immediacy that feels true to their worlds.”

Across the series, Danger Play explores not only moments of high-stakes action, but also the quieter consequences of dangerous lives — from long-term injury and mental strain to the impact on families, communities and futures. Through layered sound design and cinematic visual storytelling, the series brings audiences as close as possible to the physical and emotional reality of life on the edge.

Quintus Studios continues to expand its slate of premium factual productions, working across digital, FAST, and traditional broadcast platforms, while maintaining a strong focus on access-led storytelling and global relevance.
