FIFTH SEASON secures broadcasters for Hawco Productions’ Saint-Pierre

January 14, 2026 by TVA Editor

Global film and TV studio FIFTH SEASON has inked a wave of sales for the first season of Saint-Pierre (10 x 45’), Hawco Productions’ police procedural commissioned by CBC in Canada and starring Josephine Jobert (Death in Paradise), Allan Hawco (Republic of Doyle, Caught, Jack Ryan) and James Purefoy (Rome, Sex Education, The Following). Saint-Pierre first premiered in Canada on CBC and CBC Gem in winter 2025, with the first season ranking as CBC’s most-watched series of 2025 and one of the top Canadian dramas nationwide. CBC launched season 2 of Saint-Pierre (12 x 45’) on 5 January 2026.

The deals secured by FIFTH SEASON for Saint-Pierre season one include UKTV (UK), France Televisions (France), ABC (Australia), Disney (Belgium and Eastern Europe), Quebecor Content (French Canada), FreeTV (Israel), Sky (New Zealand) and BBC Studios (BBC NL in the Netherlands and BBC First in Poland).

Saint-Pierre is produced by Hawco Productions in association with FIFTH SEASON, which also handles global distribution across both seasons. The series is the creation of Allan Hawco, Robina Lord-Stafford and Perry Chafe, with Hawco and Lord-Stafford as Showrunners. The cast also includes Benz Antoine (Four Brothers, Get Rich or Die Tryin’), Erika Prevost (The Boys, Dare Me) and Jean-Michel Le Gal (Paris Paris, Accused).

Saint-Pierre is set in Saint-Pierre et Miquelon, a remote French territory in the North Atlantic, located just off the coast of Newfoundland, Canada. It follows Inspector Donny ‘Fitz’ Fitzpatrick (Hawco), exiled there after probing a local politician’s corruption. His arrival disrupts Deputy Chief Geneviève ‘Arch’ Archambault (Jobert), a Parisian with her own reasons for being on the island. Despite initial distrust, Fitz and Arch must work together to solve crimes in a place where the serene exterior hides significant criminal activity. Their differing policing styles and personal histories create tension and eventually a powerful partnership in tackling the island’s unique and dangerous cases.

Saint-Pierre is executive produced by Janine Squires, Erin Sullivan, Robina Lord-Stafford, John Vatcher and Allan Hawco.

Ava Knight, Director of Acquisitions at FIFTH SEASON, said, “Saint-Pierre is a cleverly crafted detective drama, that feels both singular and familiar. Its enigmatic and picturesque location provides a fresh backdrop for a European-style cop show with a distinctly Canadian twist. The series is anchored by a fish-out-of-water detective duo whose warmth and humour bring to life the sharply written cases and intricate storylines that make each week’s mystery irresistible. The show has been a huge success for CBC in its home territory, and we can’t wait to introduce the magnetic duo of Fitz and Arch to audiences around the world.”
