TAICCA and Lunta Ventures launch Digital Games Fund to drive industry growth

November 6, 2025 by TVA Editor

A new collaboration has been announced at the 2025 Taiwan Creative Content Fest (TCCF). To strengthen innovation and investment in Taiwan’s gaming industry, the Taiwan Creative Content Agency (TAICCA) and Lunta Ventures have announced a joint initiative to establish the “Digital Games Fund.” By combining professional investment with integrated industry resources, the fund aims to support original game projects from the R&D phase with early-stage capital, offering Taiwanese development teams stable financial backing and professional guidance to transform their creativity into internationally competitive original IPs.

Since its inception, TCCF has served not only as a platform for content exchange but also as a key incubator for concrete investment results and cross-industry collaboration. At the event, TAICCA Deputy CEO Ting-Li HU and Lunta Ventures Chairperson Meng-Kung HSIEH officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and jointly announced the launch of the “Digital Games Fund.” The collaboration underscores TCCF’s role as a platform that delivers tangible outcomes for the content industry and marks a pivotal step forward in Taiwan’s creative content investment ecosystem, opening a new chapter for local game creators.

TAICCA Chairperson Sue WANG noted that the gaming industry is one of the largest and fastest-growing sectors in today’s global entertainment market. While Taiwanese original game developers have demonstrated remarkable creativity and R&D capabilities on a par with international standards, they still face challenges such as limited access to early-stage funding and high entrepreneurial risks. By partnering with Lunta Ventures, TAICCA hopes to bridge existing gaps through professional investment and resource integration, building a more robust investment ecosystem for the gaming industry and enabling more promising creative forces to flourish.

Lunta Ventures was jointly founded by a group of investors who share a passion and vision for original games made in Taiwan. The company’s name is derived from Cunninghamia konishii, one of Taiwan’s five native conifer species, symbolizing deep roots and continuous growth. Lunta Ventures’s investment focus is on the seed stage, aiming to become the first institutional investor (“first check”) for emerging startups. In addition to providing funding, Lunta Ventures also helps talented, creative, and determined game developers set up companies, build operational foundations, and grow through capital and professional guidance, transforming creativity from inspiration into commercially viable creative content.

Chairperson Meng-Kung HSIEH and Director Quake HSU of Lunta Ventures are both veteran gamers with decades of experience, each bringing unique expertise and resources that make Lunta Ventures a truly distinctive company. Meng-Kung HSIEH specializes in capital management, enabling him to effectively accelerate funding and investment for development teams. As the producer of the popular podcast Gooaye, he also helps the games attract significant public attention and market visibility. Quake HSU, the co-founder of ZECZEC, one of Taiwan’s leading crowdfunding platforms, brings extensive experience in marketing and start-up development, maintaining strong connections across the content industry. With his background, he introduces creative talent and new collaboration opportunities to game producers, helping them expand their creative and business horizons.

The launch of the Digital Games Fund will accelerate the cultivation of promising new game startups, promote greater scale and professionalization of investment in the gaming industry, and help elevate Taiwan’s content sector as a whole. Moving forward, TAICCA will continue working with Lunta Ventures to support teams in expanding into overseas markets and connecting with international distribution and cross-sector collaboration opportunities.

Lunta Ventures’s representative remarked that Taiwanese game developers possess tremendous creative and development potential—they simply need that final push of initial support to take off. This collaboration with TAICCA sends an important signal to the industry that Taiwan’s gaming sector is entering a new phase of opportunity. With capital, policy, and creativity coming together in a virtuous cycle, more outstanding works will have the chance to take shape and reach the world stage.
