Bundesliga International teams up again with PPTV for 2025-26 season

June 19, 2025 by Mathew Chan

Bundesliga International and Thai broadcaster PPTV have signed a new exclusive agreement for the 2025-26 season, marking a decade-long partnership which has kept German league football on free-to-air television in Thailand since 2015.
The partnership will keep bringing the best of Football As It’s Meant To Be direct to Thai fans, with 68 matches to be screened live on the PPTV HD36 channel. As part of the joint marketing approach, PPTV will offer Thai fans the chance to cheer on their team through events, including a Bundesliga watch party in Bangkok.
In collaboration with PPTV, the Bundesliga is the only European league that has been consistently shown on free-to-air channels in Thailand over the last 10 years.
“We’re proud to bring Bundesliga football back for another exciting season,” said Pornchai Poonlamlert, Acting President of PPTV.

“Over the years, we have seen a steady rise in viewership and growing interest in German football among Thai audiences. The Bundesliga’s fast-paced playing style, rising Asian stars, and enthusiastic fan culture make it one of the most engaging leagues on television – and our ratings reflect that.”

The Deutsche Fußball Liga DFL and PPTV will also work together with the Sports Authority of Thailand and Thai FA on the third edition of Bundesliga Dream Thailand, which will give a Thai youth team the once-in-a-lifetime chance to train and play at the academies of Germany’s top clubs.

“We’re proud to continue empowering young Thai talents through Bundesliga Dream, helping them train at the highest level and pursue their football dreams,” Poonlamlert added.

The Bundesliga has always been a home for Asian players with more footballers from Asia playing in Germany over last 20 years than in the other top four European leagues combined.
“The Bundesliga has the fastest-growing fanbase in Thailand of all the top European leagues, and our long-term partnership with PPTV has been a key part of our growth strategy,” said Peer Naubert, Managing Director and Chief Marketing Officer of Bundesliga International.

“Our combination of a world-class on-field product, combined with industry-leading innovations and broadcaster relations, ensures that the Bundesliga has cemented itself as a core league for the top channels and platforms across south-east Asia.

“Witthaya Laohakul was a trailblazer as the first Thai player in Germany’s top tier and we hope to inspire the next generation through the Bundesliga Dream Thailand pathway.”
Furthermore, Bundesliga clubs have established a strong presence in Thailand. FC Bayern München operates a regional office in Bangkok, where Borussia Dortmund also runs a football academy.
