Particle6 Productions, the award-winning, next-generation UK indie founded by Eline van der Velden, is delighted to announce its second commission from Hearst Networks EMEA. Two Sides of History will be a five-part digital series that brings together two people from different backgrounds who are linked to the same event from recent history. Through personal testimony and perspective, they discuss their own unique views and reflect on how the subject has shaped their lives. At the end of each episode, there is a moment of final reflection, when the guests step back to process what they have heard and learned from each other.

With one event, two stories and two very different impacts, each episode of Two Sides of History provides a deeply human look at important periods in our recent past, examining how class, race, gender or social standing influence our experience of world-changing moments.

Expected to deliver in April, the series’ topics are set to include the 1980s’ Miners’ Strike, with contributors from both sides and the COVID-19 Pandemic, which will feature a frontline doctor and an anti-vaxxer.

Two Sides of History will be made available on Hearst Networks EMEA’s pay-tv channel Sky HISTORY as well as VOD platforms, SVOD platform HISTORY Play, YouTube, and social media such as TikTok and Facebook.

This latest commission follows the January 2025 launch of Particle6’s True Crime Secrets on Hearst Networks EMEA’s SVOD Crime+Investigation Play, alongside a range of on-demand video and social media platforms. Filmed on the street with members of the British public, True Crime Secrets presents raw, unfiltered real-life crime stories told by those who experienced them first-hand. From attempted murder to daylight robbery, each episode features candid street interviews from across the UK, revealing the varied impact of crime on all our lives.
