
TV Asahi, one of Japan’s leading commercial television networks and Emmy Award-winning producers Craig Plestis and Clara Plestis and their production company, Smart Dog Media have announced that production is officially underway for the groundbreaking new talent competition show, SONG vs DANCE.
This thrilling variety show format, a co-production between TV Asahi and Smart Dog Media has commenced filming at TV Asahi’s main studio in Roppongi, Tokyo. The show hosted by a renowned Japanese comedian, guides viewers through an action-packed competition featuring a diverse panel of Japanese judges and talent. Offering their expertise and insights throughout the competition, the stellar panel includes the lead vocalist of a popular J-pop group, a break-dancing Olympian and a comedian who is an Instagram sensation.
Executive Producers are Craig Plestis and Clara Plestis with Takaaki Kitano taking the lead in production. SONG vs DANCE marks TV Asahi’s first co-production with a U.S.-based partner, Smart Dog Media.
This trailblazing co-production brings together two of the biggest forms of artistic performance – singing and dancing – creating a new benchmark in competition television.
