No Way Back returns for a third season on SBS6 after two standout editions

February 27, 2025 by TVA Editor

Following the success of its first two seasons, Talpa Studios and Signal.Stream have announced the return of No Way Back for a third season. Since its debut, the adventure reality show has proven to be one of SBS6’s strongest reality launches ever, delivering record-breaking performances and drawing in a younger audience. The first season, featuring unknown participants on a survival journey set in Norway, peaked at a 17.3% market share in the key 25-59 demographic. The second season, No Way Back VIPS, set in Romania, performed even better, achieving an impressive average market share of 21% (including delayed viewing), nearly doubling the SBS6 channel average of 11.8%.

The show’s intense survival challenges and strategic reality gameplay have captivated Dutch audiences, attracting a significantly younger viewership with 53% of its viewers under 40 – a remarkable increase compared to the channel average. Given its overwhelming success, it’s no surprise that the third season will once again feature celebrities embarking on an unforgettable survival adventure. No Way Back was the first result of the strategic partnership between Talpa Studios and Signal.Stream.

Sebastian van Barneveld, Director Global Distribution at Talpa Studios commented, “With each season, No Way Back proves its strength, engaging viewers across generations. This format continues to push the boundaries of adventure reality, and its consistent success underscores its international potential.”

Wouter van der Pauw, founder Signal.Stream, added, “No Way Back stands out because it’s more than just physical survival – it’s a continuous mental battle between staying behind in the camp or pushing forward on the trail. This dynamic makes the show compelling for a broad and younger audience, blending high-stakes adventure with deeply personal choices.”
