Passion’s UpStream Media celebrartes 20 years of Paradise Hotel with new dedicated YouTube Channel

December 10, 2024 by TVA Editor

Passion Distribution’s UpStream Media, a subsidiary focused on digital rights management and growth opportunities, is celebrating the 20th anniversary of the hit reality format Paradise Hotel with the launch of a brand-new dedicated YouTube channel.

Paradise Hotel has been a staple of the reality competition genre since its debut, featuring a group of young singles living together in a luxurious hotel resort, competing to find love and stay in the hotel the longest.

The show has remained popular over the past 20 years with more than 4000 episodes produced across 15 territories. This year alone, six new local adaptations were released, and the Danish version recently marked its 20th season. Paradise Hotel continues to be a ratings powerhouse, with Season 16 in Norway becoming the most-watched reality series on Viaplay.

Agnes Mbye, Senior Format Sales Manager at Passion Distribution, said, “Paradise Hotel continues to captivate audiences around the world with its compelling mix of romance, drama, and twists. We’re thrilled to mark this 20th anniversary by bringing the show’s best moments to a new generation of fans through its own YouTube channel.”

The new YouTube channel will showcase iconic moments from the show, including dramatic confrontations, jaw-dropping twists, and sizzling romantic connections. The channel aims to introduce Paradise Hotel to a fresh audience while continuing to build-on and celebrate its long-lasting legacy within the reality-competition genre.

The channel is another in a long line of themed and single IP curated channels managed by UpStream Media and follows a hugely successful first year of operating, which saw UpStream’s roster of YouTube and FAST channels accumulate over 2.5 billion views across its content.

In addition to Paradise Hotel, UpStream recently launched a single IP channel for the beloved Channel 4 series My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding, offering fans clips, best moments and exclusive content from the show.

Joe Elliott, Head of UpStream Media, commented, “The launch of our single IP YouTube channels reflects our commitment to growing and enhancing content consumption for fans and audiences of some of the most popular entertainment brands. We are excited to continue expanding our portfolio and bring shows like Paradise Hotel to new audiences.”

UpStream Media’s channels include a diverse array of curated content, from Naked Science and Origin to Filth and OMG Weddings. The channels also feature iconic brands and award-winning programming such as Find It Fix It Flog It, Emma Willis: Delivering Babies, and Traffic Cops.
