BCNEXXT, a leading provider of virtualized, cloud-native systems for Linear, VoD, and OTT publishing, has announced their strategic expansion into Japan with the founding of BCNEXXT Japan and the introduction of Vipe, the only truly cloud-native playout platform, to the Japanese Broadcast market.
With a combined 100+ years of industry experience, dating back to Publitronic and the GV K2 Edge product line, BCNEXXT is focused on building intuitive tools that publish content across multiple formats from one common content pool, immediately cutting costs and increasing reliability. This is the philosophy behind Vipe, a software-only platform that can be deployed in public and private clouds as well as on-premise, using COTS hardware, or with a hybrid model across all three deployment options.
Vipe can manage file based linear and complex live events playout, VOD, and streaming in any format, within a single workflow and user interface. Content is assembled from a client’s existing storage location into the compressed transmission format with 99.9999% reliability.
As part of this expansion, BCNEXXT will collaborate with Techex as the orchestration partner to the Vipe playout platform, creating a complete cloud-based playout and publishing solution. Trusted by premier global broadcast and media customers with their most valuable live workflows, Techex transports and transforms the highest value live video over IP and in the Cloud, often in the most technically challenging environments.
“Our partnership with Techex ensures broadcasters have a unified and efficient platform to manage their content delivery systems,” said Graham Sharp, VP of Sales and Marketing, BCNEXXT.
The new president of BCNEXXT Japan, Mr. Katsumi Yamamoto, is well-known within the Broadcast Community. Based in Tokyo, Mr. Yamamoto brings decades of broadcast and local market expertise, including time at Avid Technology, Discreet Logic, Omneon, Elemental, Harmonic, AWS, and Haivision.
“I really look forward to introducing the Innovative Vipe platform to the Japanese market, so that our Broadcasters can take advantage of the technology already used by over 500 European and US channels,” states Mr. Yamamoto.
”Japan is a large and sophisticated market so it was an obvious choice to create a subsidiary there,” adds Sander Ten Dam, Managing Director, Sales and Marketing for BCNEXXT HQ. “We are very proud to have found Mr. Yamamoto to lead the business.”
