Leading independent distributor All3Media International has signed multiple deals for The Body Next Door and Dead in the Water, two true crime docuseries from RAW, multi-award-winning producers of Don’t F**k with Cats, American Nightmare and The Tinder Swindler.

Delving into a bizarre true story of past crimes and dark secrets, The Body Next Door explores the macabre discovery that thrust a sleepy village in the Welsh Valleys into the spotlight. Produced for Sky Documentaries, UK, in association with All3Media International, the three-part docuseries debuted in August, launching as Sky Documentaries’ highest-rated series of the year to date and garnering wide critical acclaim. Deals signed by All3Media International will see The Body Next Door arriving in Australia with Stan Entertainment, New Zealand with TVNZ, Now TV Hong Kong and Denmark with TV2.

Produced for Prime Video, Dead in the Water reveals a chilling, twist-laden story about the murders of Chris Farmer and Peta Frampton, whose bodies were discovered off the coast of Guatemala in 1978, and a decades-long global hunt for a brutal killer. The three-part docuseries, produced in association with All3Media International, premiered exclusively on Prime Video earlier this year in the UK, Ireland, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the Nordics and the Netherlands and this acclaimed documentary premiered yesterday in Spain at South International Series Festival.

All3Media International has now sold digital rights for Dead in the Water to BritBox in the US, while broadcast rights have been acquired by DR in Denmark and Now TV Hong Kong. Multi-territory deals have been agreed with Canal+ for France and French-speaking territories, and with Sky Deutschland taking a first window for Germany and first window in Austria, Liechtenstein and German-speaking Luxembourg and Switzerland. ZDF has acquired second window rights in Germany for its documentary channel ZDFinfo.

The Body Next Door and Dead in the Water join All3Media International’s slate of premium non-scripted productions from RAW (an All3Media group company), which already includes shows such as The Man Who Played with Fire, Parole and Drowning in Plastic.

The Body Next Door is directed by Gareth Johnson (See No Evil) and executive produced by Keeley Van Dyke (The Child in the Box: Who Killed Ursula Herrmann) and Louise Norman (Gary). Nestled in the heart of the Welsh Valleys lies Beddau, a sleepy former mining village known for its solidarity and resilience. Beddau is a place where locals know the postman by name, and everyone knows everyone’s business… or so they think. Then a horrifying turn of events reveals a human corpse, meticulously wrapped in over 40 layers of plastic, in the secure garden of a quiet residential block. Dead in the Water is directed by Niamh Kennedy (Abused by My Girlfriend), executive produced by Keeley Van Dyke and Liesel Evans (The Lost Sons), and produced by Charlie Melville (John & Joe Bishop: Life After Deaf) and Claire Goodlass. In July 1978, the bodies of junior doctor Chris Farmer and his girlfriend Peta Frampton were found floating off the coast of Guatemala. They had been tortured, bound and weighed down with engine parts. In a last letter to loved ones, they wrote that they were due to sail to Honduras with an American and his two sons. Almost 40 years after the trail for their killer had gone cold, the Facebook page of an elderly man on the other side of the world provided a shocking breakthrough.

This tense and atmospheric documentary reveals how a British journalist, Penny Farmer, battled to identify her brother’s killer. Packed with cliffhangers and extraordinary twists, it charts the astonishing story of how Penny tracked down boat captain Silas Boston and his two sons to finally discover the horrific truth about what happened to her brother aboard Boston’s boat.
