First Look at Season 2 of Recipes for Love and Murder

September 5, 2024 by TVA Editor

The highly anticipated second season of Recipes for Love and Murder is on the boil – and the first select images from the production have been released.
When a massive fire engulfs the small town of Eden, a fateful chain of events is triggered and Tannie Maria, Jessie and Khaya get dragged into a multiple murder investigation that unearths the town’s darkest secrets.
Joining the returning leads Maria Doyle Kennedy (Tannie Maria), Tony Kgoroge (Detective Khaya Meyer), and Kylie Fisher (Jessie September) in season two are Wynand Ferreira (Moffie, Mooiweer en Warm, Wyfie), who portrays Jaco, Regardt’s intense younger brother; Gerard Rudolph (Donkerland, Devils Peak) as Ricus, a trained psychologist turned mechanic; and Hlubi Mboya (Blood Psalms, I Am All Girls) as Jackie Baloyi, the new undertaker following the passing of Hattie’s husband.
The first season of Recipes for Love and Murder was chosen for the Berlinale Market & Co-Production series selections at the Berlin Film Festival and nominated at the Venice Television Awards, the South African Film and Television Awards and the South African Writers Guild Awards. The series is based on the acclaimed series of Tannie Maria Mystery novels by best-selling South African author Sally Andrew.
“The cast and crew of season 2 of Recipes for Love & Murder are cooking up something truly magical at the foot of the Swartberg Mountains in the Cape,” says Waldimar Pelser, Director: Premium Channels at MultiChoice. “This season doubles down on mystery, intrigue and drama and we can’t wait to share it with our viewers.”
“Recipes is a uniquely delicious adventure with sizzling new mysteries cooking up this season,” says Catherine Mackin, Managing Director, Acorn Media Enterprises. “These first-look images are to die for and are just an amuse-bouche for the series’ ravenous fans.”
“We’re thrilled to share these first-look images with Tannie Maria’s devoted fans around the world,” says Thierry Cassuto, Executive Producer at Both Worlds. “We are confident the wait has been worth it, as this season raises the stakes in every way, with more intricate mysteries, intriguing new characters, and Tannie Maria compelled to finally confront her past.”
Recipes for Love & Murder is directed by Jozua Malherbe and Karen Jeynes and produced by Thierry Cassuto in a partnership between AMC Networks’ Acorn TV, Multichoice and Both Worlds Pictures, in co-operation with Global Screen.
Acorn TV hold distribution rights to the series for the USA, Canada, UK, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand, Multichoice hold the rights for Africa, with Global Screen selling to the rest of the world.
