Yes Studios #NOVA travels to Latin America through a new relationship with DIRECTV

June 18, 2024 by TVA Editor

Ahead of its attendance at Conecta Fiction & Entertainment, yes Studios has announced its first-ever deal with DIRECTV Latin America, the leading media tech company in connectivity, entertainment and information in the region. This new partnership will bring #NOVA, its unique and compelling documentary that provides a real-time portrayal of the Hamas terrorist attacks at the Nova Festival in southern Israel on 7 October 2023, to audiences in Latin America from October 2024, marking the one-year anniversary of the massacre.

#NOVA – which is the most-watched documentary ever on yes TV- will premiere on the exclusive entertainment channel OnDIRECTV, available on 201 & 1201 HD of the DIRECTV programming grid, and will also be available on DGO, the company’s live TV and streaming platform, to watch from a computer, a cell phone, a Smart TV or a tablet in Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Uruguay. In Mexico, it can be viewed via DGO.

Sharon Levi, managing director of yes Studios says: “We are passionate about getting as many people as possible around the world to watch #NOVA. Not only does it provide a poignant marker for a key date in history, but it also gives a clear and unbiased look at the unfathomable events of 7th October as they unfolded and the horrific treatment that was inflicted on young festivalgoers that day.

“To that end, this new relationship with DIRECTV Latin America, along with access to its huge and growing regional audience, is of vital importance to us. We are honoured that this film is the first acquisition for our new partnership, and, of course, we hope it is only the first of many deals we can do together in the future.”

Jennifer Moscat Calderon, director of content acquisition and OnDIRECTV at Vrio Corp. (parent company of DIRECTV Latin America, DGO and SKY Brasil) says: “We are very proud to bring to Latin America through the DIRECTV screen such valuable content as #NOVA, to remember the tragic events of last 7 October and the hundreds of victims of the massacre. This moving documentary will be part of the varied proposal of the highest quality content that we offer to our audience in the region, reaching more than 40 million viewers.”

#NOVA (1 x 52) uses self-shot and mostly exclusive footage from festival attendees to chronicle, minute-by-minute, the tragic events of that day when Hamas terrorists executed more than 300 partygoers and kidnapped a further 40. The film portrays real-time reactions and emotions to the unfolding horror, transporting viewers and allowing them to decide the truth of what happened on that fateful day.

#NOVA has been produced by Kastina Communications for yes Docu, with Dan Pe’er directing. yes Studios is distributing the documentary in the international marketplace.
