Australian Children’s Content Summit Adds More to its Impressive Line-Up

The Australian Children’s Content Summit has added to its exciting guest line-up with a number of international and Australian delegates being confirmed for the three-day event from Tuesday 27 August to Thursday 29 August 2024 at Pacific Bay Resort, Coffs Harbour in New South Wales.

An outstanding lineup of new featured guests confirmed include Screen Australia’s CEO – Deirdre Brennan, an incredible roster of representatives from ABC with Head of Screen – Jen Collins and ABC’s Children and Family Department including Commissioning Editor – Mary-Ellen Mullane, Commissioning Editor, ABC Originals –  Nicole Cheek, Commissioning Editor, Animation – Jo Boag, Development Producer – Amanda Isdale, Development Producer – Mary Walsh, Production Executive – Megan Young, Executive Producer, ABC Originals –  Lyndal Mebberson,  Acquisitions Manager – Maria-Nicole Miriklis and Senior Channel Manager, Catherine Collins as well as executives from Disney Branded Television. 

The summit’s list of renowned partners continues to grow with Netflix confirming its support as a Silver Partner.  Studio Goose, Screenrights and the South Australian Film Corporation have also committed as Bronze Partners.  

Hosted by Emma Watkins known for her ARIA award-winning musical children’s show ‘Emma Memma’, this year’s summit promises delegates unparalleled opportunities to engage with screen professionals including producers, creators, writers, directors, buyers, distributors, investors, screen agencies, policy makers, and industry influencers. 

Screen Australia’s CEO Deirdre Brennan said, “The Australian Children’s Content Summit is an important event for our industry and we’re delighted to partner with SLR Productions for a second year.   Ensuring children can see and hear their own voices, values, country and culture on screen is vital – we look forward to the conversations, insights and opportunities this year’s summit will no doubt deliver”.

AUSTRALIAN CHILDREN’S CONTENT SUMMIT DETAILS

DATES: Tuesday 27 August to Thursday 29 August 2024 

LOCATION: Pacific Bay Resort, Bay Drive, Coffs Harbour 

Building on the success of last year’s inaugural event, the summit will continue to offer an exclusive setting for high-level and industry relevant activities. From speaker panels, exclusive content pitches, business discussions to outdoor adventures and fun social engagements, delegates will also have the chance to explore the Coffs Coast – a coastal getaway in Northern New South Wales that has got it all and is the state’s first ECO destination. 

The summit serves as a premier platform for the children’s and family screen industry to network, collaborate, share insights, and build significant business relationships and firmly establishes the Australian Children’s Content Summit as the leading event for children’s content in Australia. 

Previously announced international guests – Jane Gould – Co-Founder Wonderworks Insights, Kate Morton – Head of Commissioning & Acquisitions 0-6 BBC, Katharina Pietzch – VP Sales Kids & Family BBC Studios, Adriano Schmid – VP of Content PBS KIDS and Mellany Welsh – VP, Head of Nelvana and Kids Can Press already confirmed to attend the summit in Coffs Harbour.
