ABS-CBN, the Philippines’ leading content provider, continues to make Filipino content widely available overseas as it brings its hit primetime action series “The Iron Heart” to Indonesia as “Apollo,” which recently debuted on ANTV’s Asian drama timeslot and dubbed in Bahasa Indonesia.
The action series follows the story of its protagonist Apollo, an undercover agent tasked to infiltrate and take down the notorious syndicate, Tatsulok—who were also behind the deaths of his loved ones. As he takes on this perilous mission to protect the innocent and avenge his bitter past while forging camaraderie with unlikely allies and giving love a shot anew, Apollo uncovers the crime ring’s deeper intentions—connecting to his true identity.
Under the direction of Richard Ibasco Arellano, Lester Pimentel Ong, and action-stuntman film director Wang Yan Bin, “The Iron Heart” showcases action sequences on par with international programs of the same genre. To also give it a global flavor, some major scenes were shot in Italy and Japan.
As the show continues its telecast on ANTV, Indonesian audiences widely raved about it on social media—sharing how they are drawn into the story’s progression, the cast’s engaging portrayals, and its action-packed scenes on par with international programs of the same genre.
Due to its well-received clamor, ANTV decided to broadcast the show daily as of October 5 from its original weekday programming schedule since its premiere in September.
Along with its Indonesian telecast, “The Iron Heart” became a primetime hit for Filipino audiences, which consistently garnered high viewership on various platforms and concluding its local airing on a high note last October 13.
“The Iron Heart” joins ABS-CBN’s long list of titles showcased in over 50 territories, where it has sold over 50,000 hours of content worldwide—further cementing its testament as the premier source of high-quality Filipino programming, with shows that appeal to various cultures.
Most recently, other ABS-CBN shows have made their way to international airwaves, including its hit romance series “2 Good 2 Be True” in Vietnam and “He’s Into Her” in Africa, alongside a Malaysian adaptation of its affair drama “The Legal Wife,” among many others.
