Luti Media’s Blue Therapy series finds new partners in BET+ and Prime Video Africa

Leading independent distributor All3Media International has announced new partners for Luti Media’s and Trend Centrl’s highly anticipated, innovative and diverse entertainment series with a blend of constructed reality and high drama which will launch in the UK on E4 on 5th October as In Love & Toxic: Blue Therapy.

All3Media International has secured a deal with BET+ in the US, the premium streaming service for Black content and culture. In Love & Toxic: Blue Therapy will air on BET+ later this year. Additionally, the distributor has signed a pan territory deal with Prime Video Africa covering the continent. This marks the distributor’s first non-scripted deal with the service in this territory.

Based on the viral Blue Therapy YouTube series which launched in 2021 In Love and Toxic: Blue Therapy has been commissioned for a full series for E4, where it will premiere this October. The six-part series explores the complex modern relationships of five young, diverse and aspirational couples, rarely shown on screens.  Set in a luxurious, idyllic country house, the couples meet with relationship coaches to face up to the conflicts in their partnerships surrounding topics including race and interracial relationships, class, children, careers and gender role expectations. Told through a blend of reality and high drama, the series is packed with emotional highs and lows, as secrets are revealed, arguments started, and unrealistic expectations conveyed- as the series asks will love ultimately win out?

The original YouTube series began as a six-part reality show that quickly became an online sensation. Called ‘the most explosive reality show of the year*”, the series averaged over two million views per episode, across 15 territories, including UK, US, The Netherlands, Canada, Nigeria, Australia and South Africa.

Commissioned by E4, In Love & Toxic: Blue Therapy was commissioned as part of E4, and Motion Content Group’s Diverse Indies Fund, to boost commissions from small and medium sized ethnically diverse-led production companies. Luti Media will produce the series with Trend Centrl and Motion Group. All3Media International will also handle format rights for Blue Therapy.

Luti Fagbenle, Executive Producer said “In Love & Toxic: Blue Therapy represents everything Luti Media is – bold, aspirational and innovative. The original Blue Therapy YouTube series was a global online sensation and demonstrated the international appeal of stories from black British culture. Now, through our partnership with All3Media International I am thrilled that this bigger and bolder version of Blue Therapy is will reached audiences around the world through major platforms in BET and Prime Video.”

Andy Amadi, Executive Producer added “I am humbled and thrilled to see In Love & Toxic: Blue Therapy connecting globally through our partnership with All3Media International. This journey has been a labor of love, and I’m grateful for the incredible team who have made it possible, from just a mere idea in my head. Together, we’ve explored the complexities of relationships in a way that’s both entertaining and thought-provoking. I can’t wait to see how it resonates with international audiences.”

Rachel Job, SVP Non-Scripted Content at All3Media International, “Addictive, glamourous and thought-provoking, In Love & Toxic: Blue Therapy is set to become a global television obsession. Offering exclusive access into the lives and loves of five aspirational and diverse couples, Luti Media and Trend Cntrl have created an innovative entertainment series with a blend of constructed reality and high drama packed with gripping confessionals, provocative statements and enthralling relationships, that are universally relatable and utterly compelling. ”
