TaiwanPlus has released the feature-length documentary “Lost Butterfly”(English Version), produced by Activator Co Ltd and Wild Road Cinema, directed by one of Taiwan’s top wildlife documentary directors, Chang Chia-Lung.
“Lost Butterfly” follows the purple crow, Taiwan’s only migratory butterfly, as it makes the perilous winter journey south to the Dawushan foothills. Chan’s documentary details the challenges of the journey, hampered by freeways and other infrastructure, predators like the praying mantis, and increased pedestrian traffic.
The film, narrated by Taiwanese singer-songwriter, Anpu, marks TaiwanPlus’s first foray into original feature-length film distribution. “‘Lost Butterfly’ is part of a continued effort to put Taiwan’s history and conservation efforts onto the world stage,” added TaiwanPlus CEO, Michael Yu. “It displays the nation’s unique wildlife, while also raising awareness about the harms that our way of life causes, and may even provide solutions to other parts of the world facing the same problems.”
“Lost Butterfly”(English Version) is available worldwide (excluding Taiwan) exclusively on TaiwanPlus’s YouTube and website now.
